recently i've been feeling:

1. like i want to bolt out of here, forever, and not look back
2. increasingly stupid, seeing how i take ages just to consolidate research and write my term paper, at a crazily slow rate of 4 paragraphs/4h.
without any breaks in between, mind you.
3. like my waistline is expanding, proportional to how much stress i am feeling
4. angry, frustrated, and caged in.
5. like i desperately need to fast forward time..... i don't think i have ever really liked academia all that much.

i want to break free.

Dear EGG,

l had a dream. (last night.)

It was so strange and ridiculous and funny all at once that I figured it warranted an LJ post, lol.

In the dream all us EGG members were sadly Single and Desperate and so decided to join one of those speed-dating activities that let you talk to a certain guy for a couple of minutes before you move on to the next and etcetcmingle etc

So once the activity commenced Shoo and Ge and Zhiing went all social butterfly talking to people and promptly disappeared. Prav and I however, sat slumped in one corner because prospects looked bleak--- the guys at this particular place looked hopelessly boring/ugly. After a while, out of sheer boredom, I started talking to a Colombian dude, complete with blonde highlighted dreadlocks (don't ask me...) about his favourite national holiday. He told me he loved September the 17th because in Colombia it was The Annual Celebration of the Cacao Bean. I didn't know how to respond so I just nodded politely and slumped back into silence.

Meanwhile Prav was still sitting next to me and, out of sheer desperation, pulled out a prayer necklace that had strange animal charms and signs hanging from in and began to pray for dating success in some ancient tongue that (in my dream) turned out to be sanskrit. I shit you not.

After we were all given sufficient time to mingle and the EGG bunch got together again we all realized that it was a total flop for meeting guys...Zhiing told me the guys were all so weird she spent an hour talking to a girl named Padme (a la Queen Amidala/Star Wars). Shoo said everyone was ugly. And Ge said none of the guys were interested in her...

....And upon hearing that, we ALL started yelling very angrily, in all seriousness, about how they were all idiots and if no one wanted to marry her we would. Then i woke up.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.
